Obtaining a residence permit in Greece: golden visa. Service offer

The golden visa of Greece in an official program providing foreign investors with a residence permit.

Investor can choose one of the below options (the minimum amount of investment depends on the chosen investment):

• commercial real estate converted into residential real estate – from EUR 250 000;
• residential real estate in Attica, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Santorini, etc. with population exceeding 3 100 people – from EUR 800 000;
• real estate in other regions – from EUR 400 000;

• shares in investment funds, investment in alternative investment funds – from EUR 350 000; funds must meet certain requirements;
• deposit with a Greek bank – from EUR 500 000; deposit shall be made for at least one year and have automatic prolongation;
• authorized capital of a Greek company – from EUR 500 000:
  • the company’s head office is in Greece;
  • the company is engaged in investment in Greek real estate (A.E.E.A.P.);
  • the company is engaged in venture investment (E.E.K.S.);
• government bonds – from EUR 500 000; the maturity period must be at least 3 years;
• investment portfolio consisting of shares listed on an exchange and government bonds – from EUR 800 000.

• be older than 18 years old;
• have no criminal record;
• have legal income;
• make investment.

• spouse in an official marriage;
• partner provided that there is an agreement on joint living in Greece registered by a Greek notary;
• minor children;
• investor’s children:
  • under 24 years of age, not married;
  • students of higher education institutions over 21 years old;
• children of the investor’s spouse under 21 years old, not married, and financially dependent on the investor;
• parents (irrespective of their age).

Upon submission of the application the investor is issued with a certificate that allows them to stay in Greece until they receive decision on the application. The certificate is valid for 1 year.

• Provision of biometric data

A biometrics appointment is available 1 – 2 weeks after the submission of the residence permit application. Biometric data must be provided within 6 months after the submission of the golden visa application.

• Receiving a residence card after the golden visa application has been approved

When receiving a residence card, one must produce their passport and return the certificate issued upon submission of the application.

A residence permit is issued for 5 years. It is extended for the same period provided that the applicant still meets the program requirements. The application must be submitted 2 months before the expiration of the validity period of the residence card.

After 5 years of continuous living (without being absent from the country for more than 6 consecutive months or more than 10 months during the whole five-year period), the applicant can obtain a permanent residence permit. After obtaining a permanent residence permit (or other grounds for staying in the country), investment can be sold.

After 7 years of continuous living in the country as a resident, the applicant can apply for Greek citizenship. Preliminarily obtaining a permanent residence permit is not required. The period of living is deemed to start upon the initial obtaining of a residence permit.
