The golden visa of Greece in an official program providing foreign investors with a residence permit.
Investor can choose one of the below options (the minimum amount of investment depends on the chosen investment):
Upon submission of the application the investor is issued with a certificate that allows them to stay in Greece until they receive decision on the application. The certificate is valid for 1 year.
A biometrics appointment is available 1 – 2 weeks after the submission of the residence permit application. Biometric data must be provided within 6 months after the submission of the golden visa application.
When receiving a residence card, one must produce their passport and return the certificate issued upon submission of the application.
A residence permit is issued for 5 years. It is extended for the same period provided that the applicant still meets the program requirements. The application must be submitted 2 months before the expiration of the validity period of the residence card.
After 5 years of continuous living (without being absent from the country for more than 6 consecutive months or more than 10 months during the whole five-year period), the applicant can obtain a permanent residence permit. After obtaining a permanent residence permit (or other grounds for staying in the country), investment can be sold.
After 7 years of continuous living in the country as a resident, the applicant can apply for Greek citizenship. Preliminarily obtaining a permanent residence permit is not required. The period of living is deemed to start upon the initial obtaining of a residence permit.
