The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federal state located on the Arabian Peninsula and consisting of 7 emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, and Sharjah.

The fast-growing economy, favorable conditions for business, developed infrastructure, high standard of living, absence of personal income tax, multicultural and safe environment – all these factors attract to the UAE investors and highly skilled specialists from different countries of the world.

Main advantages of residence visa

The residence visa for remote workers is intended for applicants who work remotely for a foreign company and wish to reside in the UAE.

IMPORTANT: the holder of such a visa has no right to work for a company incorporated in the UAE.

A visa is issued for 1 year, and a new visa may be obtained for the same period upon expiration of the validity period of the current visa provided that the applicant still meets the requirements of the visa program.

After the visa has been cancelled, the applicant can stay in the UAE for 60 days (the standard grace period when residence visas are cancelled is 30 days).

The holder of this visa has the right to obtain residence visas for their family members: spouse and children.

IMPORTANT: there is a rule for maintaining a residence visa: do not stay outside the UAE for more than 180 days; the number of days of stay in the UAE is not regulated.

Main requirements for the applicant

  • prove having an employment contract with a foreign company valid during at least 1 year before applying for a visa; the employment contract must allow remote work; if the employment contract does not contain such a provision, the employee must provide the employer’s letter allowing them to work remotely;
  • prove a salary of at least USD 3 500 per month (or an equivalent in another currency) by providing bank statements, payrolls for the last 3 months;
  • purchase a health insurance plan valid in the UAE during at least 1 year.

· services in preparation and execution of necessary documents and getting them approved by state authorities;
· services in escort to the migration service to file a visa application or in filing an application online;
· services in escort to the clinic to undergo medical examination;
· services in escort to the federal migration service to give biometric data;
· services in filing an application and obtaining a resident card (Emirates ID).

The following expenses are not included in the service fee and shall be paid by the client separately:
· all duties and government fees connected with the obtaining of a residence visa and Emirates ID (from AED 1 700 to AED 3 700 depending on how the application is filed: outside the UAE, i.e. online, or in the UAE);
· expenses for translation and certification of supporting documents (if applicable).
