Applicants who seek Austrian citizenship as a reward for exceptional merit, i.e. significant contribution to the development of sports, culture, science, and economy, qualify for an expedited citizenship procedure.
The following requirements DO NOT apply to them:
A significant contribution to the country’s economy involves direct investment in Austrian companies or the formation of joint ventures, creation of new jobs, introduction of new technologies, increase in export sales, investments in venture capital and innovative technologies, in priority sectors of the country’s economy, etc.
Such contribution will also include donations to public or private projects of great public interest, such as funding scientific research or cultural projects.
It will not include passive investments such as buying government bonds or real estate.
The decision to grant citizenship is made on a case-by-case basis after a comprehensive assessment of the project and its social significance.
The investment amount is not regulated. Practical guidelines for applicants:

Legal support for the application for citizenship due to a significant contribution to the Austrian economy, including advice on matters of obtaining citizenship, assistance with filling in application forms, advice on preparing and forming a package of accompanying documents, filing an application and a package of documents.
Payment procedure: The government fee for filing an application is not included in the fees for legal support of the application and is payable by the client additionally. Additional services can include selecting an investment project and providing investment support. The fees for such services are to be agreed individually. |
