History
On January 28, 2000 Banco Bilbao Vizcaya (est. 1988) and Argentaria Caja Postal y Banco Hipotecario SA (est. 1998) merged to form the above. On March 22, 2000 Banco del Comercio and Banco de Negocios Argentaria merged into above. On April 17, 2000 Banca Catalana SA and Banco de Alicante merged into the above. On April 28, 2006 Granahorrar Banco Comercial SA merged into the above. On June 17, 2009 Banco de Credito Local de España SA merged into the above. In 2002 the representative office was closed down
