One of the first ‘jewels’ in our Swiss collection.
We got acquainted with the bank in 1997. The bank’s representative for Eastern Europe was at that time a lady who fluently spoke Russian and knew Russian mentality – this was because she came from Eastern Germany and studied in a Soviet university. These factors among other things contributed to the bank’s more than comfortable policy: focus on POTENTIALLY successful businessmen.
The bank set a relatively low minimum balance of USD 100 000, but was ready to consider even USD 20 000 balances, which was more than reasonable after the 1998 crisis.
However, in 2002 DBTC was acquired by another private bank (UBP) and its policy began to follow traditional Swiss private banking standards
