Заверение перевода (русский – английский)

A certified translation is usually required if you are submitting foreign-language documents to courts, governmental agencies, or non-governmental organizations such as universities, colleges and other institutions. There are different types of certification available, so it would be useful to check first exactly what kind of certification you need. You’ve seen it before, a translated document that has a big, bold stamp or seal on it. It may make you feel reassured to see it there, but sometimes it’s not necessary. Not always the standard requirement for a translation is that it be certified. Always be sure to ask the requirements of the place to which you are submitting the translation. Specifically, do they need the translation to be just certified or certified and also notarized? It’s important to understand the difference.

Notary Public

Typically, the only time you will see a stamp on a translation is if the document is notarized by a notary public. In this case, the translator will do the work, certify it, and then sign his/her signature in front of a notary. It’s a misconception that the notary public is verifying the accuracy of the translation. They are not. They may not even be able to read the original document or the translation. They are only verifying the identity of the person who is signing it. This process is what makes the document both certified and notarized, and the stamp would be that of the notary.

Types of notary certification of translation

• Сertification attached to the original document: translation is thread bound (sewn) to the original document that is certified by a sworn translator whose signature is certified by the notary.
• Certification attached to the copy: there is a photo-copy taken of the original document to which the translation into the relevant language by sworn translator is bound; the photo-copy shall be approved by the notary only upon presentation of the original document.

Разумеется, вы обращали внимание на большую, массивную печать на переведенном документе. Конечно, наличие печати придает спокойствия, но иногда можно обойтись без нее. Требование заверения перевода не всегда обязательно. Будет целесообразно уточнить требования в том месте, куда вы подаете перевод. В особенности нужно выяснить, нужен им просто заверенный переводчиком перевод или требуется заверение перевода нотариусом? Очень важно понимать разницу.

Нотариус

В большинстве случаев, если вы видите печать на переводе, значит, он заверен нотариусом. В этом случае переводчик выполняет свою работу, подтверждает ее, а затем подписывает свой перевод в присутствии нотариуса. У некоторых людей есть заблуждение, что нотариус проверяет точность перевода. Нет, он этого не делает. Скорее всего, они не могут прочитать оригинал или перевод. Нотариусы удостоверяют подлинность подписи подписавшего лица. Данный процесс включает в себя и удостоверение, и заверение перевода нотариусом, на документ ставится печать нотариуса.

Виды заверения переводов

• Заверение перевода оригинала документа: перевод пришивается ниткой к оригиналу, подписавается переводчиком, далее следует заверение перевода нотариусом.
• Заверение перевода копии: копия снимается с оригинала документа, к ней пришивается перевод на нужный язык, копия с переводом заверяются у нотариуса. Копия заверяется только при предоставлении нотариусу оригинала.
